Upon arrival, all books and magazines are evaluated for condition and value. If we determine that a submission requires a service tier upgrade—due to book value, size, or specific processing needs—we reserve the right to adjust the service accordingly. In this event, we will notify you and send an invoice for the price difference. Should you choose to reject the upgrade and cancel the service, the customer is responsible for all shipping and handling costs required to return the items. We will not release or ship books back until these return costs are settled.

- We require all Grading Submissions to have Signature Required, unless customer refuses that service in writing.
Cleaning, Pressing & Grading Risk Disclosure
While it is rare, there exists a possibility that a book or item could potentially be damaged from any process performed by Spineworks Comics, or one of its representatives. When submitting a, book or item to Spineworks Comics, you acknowledge and accept this risk of potential damage, and that Spineworks Comics LLC, it's owners or representatives will not be held liable, legally or monetarily, for any damage to any item or book caused by handling or any process performed as per SOP.
Frail and Heavily Damaged Items:
Items sent in for services that are: brittle, chipping, weak staples, rust, tears, water damage, have splitting spines and other forms of "wear and tear", pose an additional risk. We strongly suggest that all customers inspect books prior to service, and when possible, advise us of any concerns you may have. If damage occurs to a book submitted in a poor condition, we will not be responsible. If Spineworks or any of its representatives feel a book is not fit for any type of service, we will let you know and the item may be returned to you (customer pays shipping), or sent for grading "as-is".
Restoration/Complete Inspection:
Spineworks Comics are not responsible for inspecting books for restoration and/or missing pages, inserts, cutouts, etc. If you would like us to inspect your book, you must request this (may incur additional fee, as time will be spent doing so). Customers send books in, in all manners of condition, and we perform services as requested. We do not ask questions as to "why a particular book is sent in", as we respect all collectors and hobbyists' privacy and treat all books as if they are our own. Grading companies offer this service, and we suggest having such an inspection done there, as we are not professional graders.
CPR (Crack Press Resubmit):
Done at your own risk! Spineworks does not and can not guarantee a particular grade on any submission. If you decide to crack open a graded book for any reason, there is a potential risk of damage during the cracking process, or existing internal damage within the slab itself (yes it happens more often than you think). Furthermore, any grade on a book is a snapshot of the final moment of a book BEFORE it was encapsulated, packed, shipped, transported to, and then in the possession of the owner(s). Books can be damaged at any point from encapsulation to the day you buy it and we receive it. So there is never a guarantee that our services will give you a higher grade.
Now that we have properly frightened you, rest assured that your complete satisfaction is the number one priority and goal at Spineworks, and if an incident should occur, we will attempt to find an acceptable resolution to said matter.
